Ranger of the Council
Rangers answer only to the Great Council, and spend their time traveling between all the clan's territories on Alkask settling disputes or apprehending criminals.
Each Ranger wears an emerald pendant as a badge of office.
Most Rangers have an assigned territory comprised of a few clans that they patrol.
Disputes among meskka are rare, but given their large size, powerful build, and sharp claws, they can easily injure each other. Rangers are trained in a variety of martial arts specialized for their species. This helps them settle disputes quickly and with a minimum of damage.
Rangers also act as a military force. This area of their duties is rarely needed, as the clans are autonomous, and rarely fight over marked territories. Rangers have only had to stop a territorial dispute with force on one occasion (that they admit to).
